Frequently Asked Questions

What types of events can you cater?

We travel all across the Southeast, catering any type of event you can think of! Wedding receptions, corporate Galas, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthday parties, baby showers, memorials, and more. We are always happy to help make your next event one to remember!

What's the difference between dinner buffet & cocktail stations?

Cocktail Stations

A cocktail stations style event creates a more casual atmosphere, where not all guests are officially seated. This type of meal allows guests to socialize throughout the event and permits them to eat as they please. Cocktail stations are characteristically linked with an hors d'oeuvre station prior to dinner.

Dinner Buffet

A dinner buffet generates a more formal setting, though not as formal as a served meal. For a dinner buffet, each guest is provided a seat, assigned or unassigned. This style meal is typically used when the host(s) envision everyone observing a speech, presentation, dance, etc. Dinner Buffets are normally associated with passed hors d'oeuvre prior to dinner.

What's included in your 9% production fee?

The production fee helps cover the costs of doing business: office staff, utilities, office supplies, day-to-day operations, etc. So, while a catering contract may show a breakdown of the event elements and their costs, the production fee helps cover the cost of the hours needed to prepare and plan the event.

Can Epting provide linens?

Yes, Epting can provide linens. We have the following poly cotton linens in house for $25/each in a limited selection of sizes: white, black, ivory. We are able to order any linen material, color or pattern.

How does gratuity work?

Gratuity is not included in your line itemized proposal, as this is not an element we require. Our staff is always appreciative of any amount of gratuity you are able & willing to provide.

What's included in your "Labor Estimate"?

Our labor estimate covers the labor of your event from start to finish, i.e., from the moment equipment begins to be pulled off our warehouse shelves to the moment all items are washed & placed back on our shelves. This estimate also includes all the labor required for the day of the event.

Do you offer in-house meetings?

Typically, we schedule an in-house meeting once we have an initial proposal established. We understand that each of our potential clients has a budget to contend with, so we always like to make sure the price of our services aligns with your budget prior to scheduling an in-person meeting.

Do you offer tastings?

If you've never had the opportunity to experience our food, you and your designated event planner can discuss a "chef's table" meeting for your event. We want you to be happy with your choice of caterers and once an initial proposal has been established, you and your event planner will discuss opportunities to sample our food at meetings we refer to as "chef's tables", where our chef prepares a sampling of our menu items.

Who will be at my event on the day of?

On the day of your event, an Event Manager will be in charge of ensuring everything goes perfectly & as planned. Our kitchen staff and the following staff members (if applicable) will also be present on the day of: bussers, station attendants, bartenders, etc.

Do you offer a Day of Coordination for my wedding?

Yes! Select members of our staff offer day of coordination. This service is offered independently of Epting Events.

When can I contact my event planner?

Our sales team, including our event planners & event coordinators, are available to talk/meet with you during normal business hours - Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. They can be reached via our main office line, their direct work line, or their work email.

How does Epting plate serve dinner?

Since we're a catering company, as opposed to a restaurant, we like to create a duo plate for our served meals instead of taking each guests' "order" through your RSVP card. Each guest enjoys two meat selections along with side options. We've found this method to be both simpler and more impressive for all.

Vegetarian/vegan served meals are available.
