Christmas Poem
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the warehouse,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The ladles were hung by the ovens with care,
In hopes that Lee wouldn’t come messing in there;
The staff were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of parties danced in their heads;
And Janice in her 'kerchief, and Rosa in her cap,
Had just settled their brains for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
They sprang from their beds to see what was the matter.
Away to the window they flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
But a miniature truck and 3 Eptings full of cheer,
With Lee as the driver so lively and quick,
Without a beard but just like St.Nick,
More rapid than eagles their words did come,
They whistled and shouted and thumped on a drum:
"Now, Jeff! now, ET! now Bethany and Vance!
On, Janice ! on, Cord! on, Dino and Chance!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As the song echoed through the cold night,
They walked to the door and turned on the light,
“What the hells going on it’s 2am guys,
Can’t you do this in the day when it’s not a surprise?”
They laughed and revved the truck with a thrum,
They continued the song and started the drum,
“Now, Ryan! now Danielle! Now Tuno and Kristen.
On, Ben! on Gary! On Michael and Christian.
Here, Lumi! Here, Hector! Here April and Elvis!
Go Rick! Go Bryan! Go Matt and Keith Purvis!”
“Grab your bags and throw them up-top,
We just won a contract, now get to the shop.”
As Rosa looked at them dumbstruck with shock,
Janice walked out and picked up a rock.
Lee jumped out and said “whoa whoa whoa my dear”
Daniel and Ashley jumped out with a cheer,
“We love you and hope you have a Merry Holiday,
Just came by to mess with you on this Christmas Day”
“Thank you for all the work you guys do,
we can’t do it alone you all are the best crew,
Over 500 people we hired this year,
Not all are mentioned but all are still dear,
Thank you for caring and working so hard,
With that we will go and get out of your yard.”
As they drove down the road and went out of sight,
Lees voice rang out
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
